Kidnappers Return Victim Hours After Abduction
Lucky for one teen in Detroit his kidnappers returned him home safe and sound just hours after his trauma began. Anthony Lawrey, 15, was taken near his home by gunpoint by three men around 12:30 a.m.
According to Sergeant Eren Stephens the men were armed with a shotgun and a handgun. They called the boy's family home around 1 a.m. and demanded a large sum of money, around $80,000. She also said that there was a shooting at some point during the kidnapping but police were still investigating who fired a shot and why.
Police were present when the father returned home with the boy at 4:15 a.m. Investigators wasted no time in questioning the father and the son after their return. Stephens along with other officers were attempting to discover whether the kidnappers had any relationship with the boy and his family. One of her final comments was that "there are a lot of unanswered questions."
