46 Year Old Apprehended for White Collar Crimes
According to one police department in San Diego, California, a 46-year-old female suspect was taken into custody last week after officers determined that she had been wanted for three years. The warrant for her arrest was issued in March 2008, shortly after which she escaped from the area. She has been accused of multiple white collar crimes that added up to an estimated loss of $14,000 for her victims.
While working for the state, the suspect allegedly used a county card to pay for gas. In addition, she wrote checks to herself from county funds and deposited them into her own bank account.
Investigators finally got a tip that she would be boarding a plane in San Diego that was scheduled to fly into Texas. However, rather than having the chance to board the plane, she was placed in handcuffs and arrested on the spot.
People who have been accused of white collar crimes against their employer face more than the loss of their jobs – they also face criminal charges. For this reason, people who are facing these types of offenses should contact a San Diego white collar crime attorney who can protect their best interests in-and-out of the court room.
