Movie Star Cited for Battery at Convention
Fans at Comic-Con this year were excited to see one of the stars of from a well-known comic book movie, but were shocked when he was arrested later that afternoon.
According to the security staff for the event, the star was accompanied by an entourage, all of whom he wanted to enter with him. However, one of his posse did not have the right identification to enter the building and was denied the right to enter by a staff member.
The movie star wanted his friend to enter anyway, so he pushed the security guard in an attempt to get around him. He then went on to curse at the guards and insult them prompting other guards to call local officers.
Although the responding officer did comment that his breath smelled like alcohol, he was not given a citation for public drunkenness. Since the security guard did make a citizen's arrest against the star, the police department cited the star for misdemeanor battery.
