Soccer Coach Accused of Molestation
It is never easy to hear that your child has been molested, but it is even worse when it is by someone the child knew and trusted.
Such is the case of a 16-year-old boy in South Bay, California who finally came forward with allegations of sexual abuse this month. He told officers in his city that he had been molested by his soccer coach for months and wanted to report the abuse.
Since then, the man has been charged with eight felony counts of sexual abuse against the young boy. While there was a possible second victim named, all charges related to the second victim were dropped due to insufficient evidence.
According to reports, the boy met the coach during a soccer lesson and spoke with him about the chance to play professionally in Brazil. The coach offered the boy private lessons during which he victimized the young boy. Prosecutors were able to gather enough evidence to show that the man performed sodomy and oral copulation on the boy and were able to press sex crime charges.
Anytime people have been accused of committing sex crimes, such as
molestation, the number one thing they should do is
contact a San Diego sex crime lawyer who has experience litigating these types of cases, which are often times complicated and highly emotional.
