Agents Discover Nine Tons of Marijuana

Border patrol agents work hard every day to keep drugs from entering our borders. Thanks to the efforts of one team of agents, over nine tons of marijuana was seized before they could enter California.

According to the agents that made the arrest, seven men were detained for operating a drug smuggling ring. The men had hidden nine tons of marijuana inside a big rig going through a local crossing. When the truck was x-rayed at the border, the pillows of marijuana were detected. They are estimated to have a street value of $13 million.

The suspects range in age from 19 to 47 years old.

This happened at the same location where an underground drug smuggling tunnel was unearthed earlier this month.
