Father Arrested for Daughter's Death
A man wanted for arrest in New Jersey was finally detained in East San Diego almost a week after police started searching for him. The 27-year-old man was wanted on suspicion of killing his 2-year-old daughter.
Earlier last week, the toddler was found dead in her car seat in a creek in New Jersey. Police immediately suspected the father since he had had custody of his child and failed to return her to the mother. Based on their investigation, police now believe that the man threw the young girl from a bridge while still strapped into the car seat.
He then caught a bus across the country and started his journey west. At some point police received a tip, it is uncertain as to whom it was from, that led ultimately led to his arrest. He was detained and charged with murder, unlawful flight to avoid prosecution, child endangerment and interfering with a court order.
