Law Enforcement Collaborate to Catch DUI Offenders
Police in three cities worked together to catch drunk drivers last week in California. Officers conducted three checkpoints that arrested a total of twelve people for driving under the influence. All of these drivers were given field sobriety tests and asked to submit to a breath test. When they either failed the tests or refused to complete them, the individuals were arrested and brought to the nearest jail.
Another person was arrested for driving on a suspended license as well as being in possession of marijuana. Hundreds of vehicles drove through the checkpoints, all of which could have been stopped and searched if the officers suspected foul play and/or drunk driving.
