Police Locate Robbery Suspects
Three men suspected of committing robberies and kidnappings in the Gaslamp Quarter have finally been detained by police. They are believed to have attacked at least eight people over the past six months.
Police knew that drunk men in this area of San Diego were being targeted by three men working together. They would sometimes approach the victims by pretending to be police officers. They would then kidnap the men and demand them to give up their ATM secret codes. After the victims had been driven around town to multiple ATMs, they would be released by the kidnappers.
Based on evidence collected at the crime scenes and eyewitness testimony, police were finally able to identify and arrest the three men. The men range in age from 20 to 25 and are believed to have lived together while committing the crimes. All three have already entered pleas of not guilty for both the charges of kidnapping with intent to commit robbery.
