Suspect Unleashes Dog on Officers
Officers in San Diego not only had to fight off a suspect but his large Rottweiler puppy as well. The suspect panicked during the two-hour standoff with the police and attempted to scare them off by throwing the animal at them.
While it is uncertain why the police were called to arrest the 30-year-old suspect in the first place, it is known that he engaged them in a 2-hour standoff. When police were able to drag him out of the house, he proceeded to assault them, giving one officer a broken nose while another suffered a mild concussion.
The suspect was arrested on charges of resisting arrest using violence and suspicion of assault likely to produce great bodily injury. Thankfully, both officers are expected to make a full recovery.
