Police Dog Stops Auto Thief
You can run but you can't hide from the police dogs of Mission Valley as one criminal learned last week.
Officers attempted to pull over a man driving a 1998 Honda Civic that was registered as a stolen vehicle. The man refused, however, and kept driving until he reached a gated community on Caminito Fuente that dead-ended at a canyon. It was there that he abandoned the vehicle and disappeared into a bamboo thicket. Witnesses spotted him near a T.G.I.Friday's at 403 Camino del Rio South by Route 163.
Police spent an hour pursuing the suspect but it was eventually a police dog that located and took him down. He was then taken to a local hospital to be treated for dog bites and arrested on suspicion of auto theft.
