Woman Assaulted for No Apparent Reason
A woman was minding her own business in Hanford when a young man approached and assaulted her for no apparent reason.
Hanford officers were called to the Adventist Medical Center when the young woman was brought in with a fractured nose and black eye. The victim then told police the story about being assaulted on South Irwin Street. The suspect, who was later identified as a 25-year-old male, started an argument with the victim and then hit her across the face. She was brought to the hospital by her fiancé and did not request police assistance.
Based on her description, officers were able to locate the suspect just a few hours later, not too far from the assault site. He was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Kings County Jail. The suspect has since been charged with battery causing serious bodily injury and remains behind bars on $50,000 bail.
