Man Arrested for Violating Adam Walsh Act
A man who violated the Adam Walsh Act was arrested by US Marshals this week forsex crimes.
When he fled Daytona the 62 year old defendant violated his state sex offender registration requirements. However, he was already wanted for local charges of violating his probation and failure to register as a sex offender locally.
The suspect has been on the Sex Offender Registry since 1987 when he was convicted of rape and other violations of his sex offender status. Investigators believe that the suspect and a woman, who might be his wife, attempted to flee to San Diego. As a result the man could spend up to ten years in prison. Until then he will remain in the San Diego jail until his hearing, after which he will be extradited to Montgomery County for his local charges there.
