Kidnapped Baby Found by Law Enforcement
A community took a deep breath when an abducted baby girl was found by law enforcement officials.
The baby's mother was walking near her daughter's daycare when a woman posing as a staff member offered to bring the baby inside. However, when the teenage mother returned twenty minutes later, the baby was nowhere to be found. According to Lt. Andra Brown of the San Diego Police Department, the suspect "said she could take care of the child while the mother went to take care of her business."
Officers spread across the area to conduct a search for the abducted baby. Around 4 p.m. a woman was spotted matching the description of the suspect. She was pushing a baby stroller at the San Ysidro station; when stopped by officers, they quickly realized they had found the correct baby.
The kidnapping suspect was later identified as Talia Gone, 31. She is now being held on charges of child abduction, kidnapping and child endangerment.
