Couple Victims of Hate Crime and Attempted Robbery

It was not enough for one man to verbally harass a couple last week. He had to aggravate the situation by attempting to rob them as well.

According to police in San Diego, California, the incident is being labeled as a hate crime. The two victims, a white man and a white woman, were walking down a street when a black man approached them on his bicycle. Allegedly, he started shouting racial slurs at them and then tried to rob them. Luckily, their efforts to ignore him paid off and the man finally rode away.

Based on the description provided by the two victims, police were able to catch the man shortly after and he was taken into custody on a variety of criminal charges.
