Officers Catch Man Wanted for Girlfriend's Murder
Police in San Diego, California finally detained one man that is no stranger to a jail cell and who tried hard to avoid returning to one.
The 20-year-old man taken into custody last week was known to officers for his possible role in a 2009 homicide case. While that case is still open, the department has yet to obtain enough evidence to arrest him for the murder. However, they were able to arrest him for the attempted murder of his ex-girlfriend last month.
Since the woman first reported the assault, the young man has been on the run from the law. After receiving a reliable tip about his whereabouts, officers were able to locate him. However, he did not come peacefully, but rather forced several officers to pull their weapons on him. Now that he is behind bars, the department says it may be able to pin the 2009 murder on him as well.
