Case Against Drug Pin Comes to an End

Although it took ten years to complete, the case against a famous drug pin has had its last chapter read. The man responsible for leading a Mexican drug cartel has pleaded guilty to most of the charges against him.
The man was brought up on charges of money-laundering conspiracy and federal racketeering charges to the shock of those close to him. The 58-year-old had escaped detection for well over a decade as he built up a major drug empire in Tijuana. In addition to organizing a variety of white collar crimes, he became infamous as someone who could scoff at law officials while conducting his illegal businesses.
In exchange for pleading guilty, the man could face up to 25 years in a maximum security prison. While this may not seem like much of a plea bargain, he could have faced several life sentences for the crimes that he committed. His brother received a life sentence, along with several other people who helped him run the empire.
