In La Mesa, California, police were looking for a suspect that allegedly stole property from fifty vehicles between last August and December. Recently, officers were able to track down the suspect and place him under arrest. The 40-year-old man was charged last week after police gathered enough evidence against him. A month's long investigation led them to the man who mainly stole from people who were visiting the beaches in San Diego. He would target people while they were near the water by waiting until their left their towels. He would then grab their car keys from their bags or purses and remove the valuable property from their vehicles. In some cases, he would even return the keys to the victims' bags or purses.
Now, the man is facing a litany of theft crime charges including twenty counts of stolen property and counts of identity theft, forgery, burglary, as well as other offenses.
