Woman Claims Priest Sexually Assaulted Her

Another priest has been accused of a sex crime but this time it is against a woman. Unlike charges of clergy abuse that involve juvenile boys, this priest has been charged with the sexual assault of a 20-year-old woman.
The victim went to police earlier this month to report the incident. She claims that the 53-year-old priest assaulted the young woman at his own house. Police are investigating the report and have yet to give much detail about the case. Once the priest learned of the charges against him, he turned himself in for questioning. He was released later that day on bail.
Although little is known about the case, it is known that the young woman had been a visitor to his house several times over the past few months. It is uncertain as to whether she is a member of his clergy or not. Despite the gruesome nature of the charges, his parishioners refuse to believe that he committed the crime.
